Joinery Craftsmen at Townsend Timber manufacture windows and doors in addition to varied timber products using traditional techniques.  These windows and doors are matched up with the latest specification security hinge and lock sets or classic old time furniture.

MADE-TO-MEASURE SERVICE

Townsend’s design team can accommodate made to measure items as they do not mass-produce.  Choosing to take time on each order ensures that they provide the best quality for you.  This dovetails with the in-house surveyors, designers and carpenter-build teams so that exactly what’s needed for every project is built.  Townsend Timber offers a supply and fit service for replacement joinery also, even if not involved in your construction works.

All glazing is purchased ‘direct from factory’ so Townsend are able to supply you with all the components with your joinery.  Glazing includes “A-rated” double glazing units and ancillary security glazing tapes.

NEW JOINERY FOR 2017

New for 2017 are:

  • Made-to-measure hardwood sash windows.  Made using Red Grandis engineered timber, a versatile, high performing and FSC® 100% certified uniform hardwood.
  • Revolutionary new window system ‘Ecotilt’ from Mighton UK.
This system not only has achieved a “B” energy rating but has also gained a Secure By Design certificate.  In addition to hidden insulation and PVCu parts, Ecotilt also hides its strong metal Safety Stays.  Hiding the stays allows the sashes to tilt to a safe angle.  Furthermore, the system comes as standard with Ultrashoe™.  Ultrashoe™ is the mechanism that makes the Mighton Assisted Lift Balances simple to adjust. The mechanism is completely invisible until the sashes are tilted.
  • Townsend Timber’s new Spray Bay.
As part of the production facility Townsend has recently installed a new spray-bay.  This spray bay coating process uses an environmentally friendly water-based system from Teknos, one of the UK’s top manufacturer.  The Teknos system offers a vast array of colours for your joinery as well as classic combinations.  In addition, to the Teknos Spray Coat, Townsend Timber is happy to offer Osmo oiled finish to solid Oak joinery.  Oiling protects timber while allowing a silvered aged look in a short period of time.

The Townsend team of experienced surveyors is available to discuss your requirements.  Meet either at Townsend or at your property to discuss the project.  Furthermore, surveys are free.  Click here for contact details.
