Choose our full turnkey service where we design and build your garage and install every finishing touch or supply in kit form, delivered to site  throughout Dorset and neighbouring counties or collected from our yard with erection instructions, all hand-made using traditional and time served skills combined with modern production techniques.

You have a myriad of options to choose from modular designs or bespoke frames, starting with the simple skeletal frame of beautiful European Oak crafted using traditional methods to bespoke to suit your needs. You can select from two basic designs from which to start being Catslide and Parallel Eaves.

Once you have made your basic selection, remember that a garage doesn’t have to be just a garage! Consider the following options:

• Completely open bays create a car port
• An open fronted garage can give a discrete shelter for the hot tub
• A garage can house cars at the front with an enclosed workshop to the rear
• Why not combine a car port with lockable storage?
• Use the Catslide design to give you lockable storage with a dry log store area
• Or add on a room above to make the most of your building

BESPOKE

At Townsend Timber we recognise that each client is individual with specific requirements so as well as off the peg kits we welcome discussions to design a bespoke building for your needs.

Townsend Timber’s own joinery workshop is used to produce standard and bespoke doors and windows for your oak framed building. Our dedicated staff will erect and complete your building, with passion and enthusiasm.

FRAMING

Townsend Timber takes pride in continuing the ancient tradition of oak framing, using high quality European Green oak, one of the most sustainable, eco-friendly materials available.

CLADDING THE OUTSIDE

There is a choice of cladding styles available for your Oak Framed Building:

• Traditional Softwood (pressure treated), Oak or Cedar Weatherboarding, or even
• Waney Edge Douglas Fir
• Board and Batten

ROOFING OPTIONS

Roofing options include:

• Cedar Shingles
• Clay Tiles
• Slate Tiles
• Thatch

STICK / TIMBER FRAME BUILDS

Using Softwoods instead of Oak, the same natural beauty can be achieved in affordable home extensions, garden rooms and sports pavilions.

Townsend Timber will provide you with just the kit frame, all ready for installation by your own competent builder or carpenter with helpful instructions!

• 150 x 150 Main posts, eaves and tie beam.
• Sole plate 100 x 150
• Curved braces 50 mm thick
• Posts & Cat slide posts and eaves beam in 150 x 150 oak.

• Kiln dried Oak pegs
• Studwork infill and rafters in softwood.
• Saddle stones for independent posts.
• Softwood weatherboarding 200mm wide
• All softwood is pressure treated
• height = 2.10m to underside of eave beam
