Oak Framing, Feature Oak Trusses & Historic renovation

Bringing natural beauty into your home . . .

An oak framed structure makes a stunning impression; whether a full frame or feature roofs.  From traditional to contemporary, the beauty of oak lends itself to almost all schemes in some way or another.  Townsend Timber can design a new oak frame for your project as the primary structural frame or as a hybrid part of an existing scheme, whether it be an element in a new build or extension, or for renovation work.

RENOVATION

Our experienced team of framing carpenters also renovate existing historic timber framed roofs and structures.  Oak has been used since Tudor times and is naturally long lasting.  An oak frame can assist you in renovating a barn or similar building, providing a beautiful interior in keeping with the surrounds while ‘taking-the-load’ off the structure of the historic building.  Townsend works closely with the best local structural engineers.  Together have access to both ancient and up to date designs for classic or modern-day heavy post-and-beam framing.  Ongoing membership of both the Carpenters Fellowship and TRADA (Timber Research & Development Association) is a tribute to Townsend Timber’s commitment to both modern and historic framing.

HIGH QUALITY OAK

For every project Townsend use only high quality European Oak sourced from the best suppliers in UK and Europe.  This is obtained in varying grades as the project requires.  The most preferred package is to take on the project as a whole as the Main Contractor; utilising the in-house Design, Build, Carpenter, Framer and Roof Teams to the full.

Take advantage of a free site survey across Dorset and surrounding counties. One of the experienced surveyors will visit to discuss your requirements, then follow up with designs, schemes and pricing.  Contact Townsend to book an appointment or for references from existing clients.   Townsend welcomes trade enquiries and enjoys working with main contractors as your local ‘Oak-Framing-Specialist’.
