 Townsend Timber’s Courtyard Gates are Heavy Duty gates which are framed, ledged and braced with a full mortise and tenon frame construction with a Tongue & Groove infill. These are available in a standard range of sizes or made to measure in the following profiles:
Marlborough : 50 mm thick frames, flat top rail and vertical tongue & groove infill.
Winchester: 50 mm thick frames, profiled top rail and vertical tongue & groove infill.
Salisbury : Extra heavy duty 65 mm thick frames offered with either Concave (dished) or Convex (domed) top rail and vertical tongue & groove infill.
You then have the option of hardwood or softwood for the majority of our styles. Softwood can be tanalised or untreated or stained depending upon the gate style and these choices are shown on the price list. Softwoods, namely pine in red or white wood, have much more visible graining and knotting to the wood. Hardwood 5-bar gates are left natural whilst the hardwood Courtyard Gates are oiled. Hardwoods have a much more discrete visibility to the grain. Hardwood Gates are advised to be hung on Oak Posts.

 Added Security! Townsend Timber are able to provide added security by the use of a Long Throw Lock which is operated by key only on the outside. Alternatively, a fully automated gate with key pad or key fob entry which is ideally suited to the larger vehicular gate entrances,
